Dave Turner is the veteran of youth affairs, with 35 years experience in connecting policy and strategy with practice, specializing in 15 to 19 year-olds. Dave consults with the Australian and UK Governments. In this one day event he will look into the tension between the handing down of traditional values and norms and freedom, between “tough love” and “make up your own mind”, exploring the concept of the Y Generation as “Freedom’s Orphans”. The emphasis will fall on the roles of professionals, significant adults, family, caregivers and peers in key issues facing young people.
